Nittany Dodgers September 16th, 2002 12:54 PM

Boo-yah!

The Nittany Dodgers broke open their champaigne and celebrated their first victory! Thank you Tampa Bay Defense and your 33 points. Two weeks in and the Western division is at pretty much the same place as when we started.

Come on people, there surely is not enough trash talking going on (that I can see anyways). Right now I'm 1-1 (and coached myself out of 2-0) and Curtis Martin hasn't done squat yet. Just wait until he gets rolling.

Next up: Mike and his Parkwood Predators. Bring it on, baby!

Preds September 16th, 2002 01:17 PM

Well, Peerless Price stole a win from me against the Undead, so I stand at 1-1 as well, although I have no fears in taking on the Dodgers.

Your team is still learning the "system" so to speak... prepare to be schooled by the Predators :D ! :****you:

Nittany Dodgers September 16th, 2002 03:06 PM

OK, I don't even know what system my players are still learning according to you. However, Nittany Dodger teams are well accustomed to the system of winning. I fully intend on expanding the OJT in that system this weekend.

Some advice for the Dodgers:

As a graduate of the Predators School, I just have to tell you: it's great! Lots of fun and excitement, you meet a lot of interesting people, and when you graduate they give you a 'W'!

But make no mistake, you've got to do your homework! Slackers are sent packing! This school's not for fools!

Take away the Bills-Vikes OT and the Undead would be sitting at 1-1... you got lucky this past week... congrats... but I'll beat you the next time we meet... your team has holes that will be exposed in the coming weeks.

Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers September 17th, 2002 05:43 PM

Enjoy your win Dodgers.....I got week 11 circled. This is not our last dance.........

Freakin TB defense...........:smash: :smash: :smash:

Detroit Wyverns September 17th, 2002 09:12 PM

After pulling a victory out of my a$$, I am now 2-0. Not bad for a team that "screwed itself" during the offseason, eh?

Ypsilanti Undead September 19th, 2002 03:50 PM

Since football's a game of copycats, I think we can expect to see more teams rack up big cap penalties and leave gaping holes in their rosters, as they try to copy the success of the Wyverns and Undead!

(Also, having a Dungeons & Dragons type name couldn't hurt!)

RABID LLAMAS September 19th, 2002 04:19 PM

Nice job on your 0.9 win over my Llamas. I'm thinking the difference is that someone hit the line and fell backward, rather than forwards to cost me my first win!

Detroit Wyverns September 19th, 2002 06:29 PM

Hehe, the sad thing is, RL, you're probably right. Don't you just hate losing by less than a freakin' point? :D

Flaxwless September 19th, 2002 10:02 PM

All I have to say is.... nothing.

1-1 still feeling my team out. We've had major changes over the offseason.

Last year I said I was going to win the championship.... I did.

I'm not going to be so bold this year because my Qbs are shaky and I don't have another reliable RB next to Williams.

However..... I will gurantee a victory Rabid Llamas.

Oh did I mention I'm only going to be fielding a team of 9 players, one WR short of 10?!

You heard it straight form my mouth... Llamas going down to an undermanned team!

RABID LLAMAS September 20th, 2002 07:40 AM

 You know I have no response for that.

Brunell on a bye
Eddie doubtful
Hearst part time
Hakim, Finneran...well 'nough said.

Here's hoping your guys find the Ron Dayne in them and hit the line and collapse!

Mutts September 20th, 2002 11:22 AM

Hey now... show the Great Dayne some respect! He's a member of the Wonder Mutts! (At least for now...)

:nono:

Flaxwless September 20th, 2002 07:12 PM

Geez.... that wasn't much fun!

You've practically accepted that challenge. Horrible.

Nittany Dodgers September 23rd, 2002 11:19 AM

Come on Tampa D, don't fail me now. Can they pull out another victory for me? Nervous yet Mike? Only 12 points down.

It'll be close, but I think the Bucs D is VASTLY overrated (and the Bucs are my 2nd favorite team after the Bills).

I think the Rams o will return to form on Monday Night Football and light them up.

Go Rams!

Nittany Dodgers September 23rd, 2002 11:44 AM

Heck, I don't care how the Bucs are rates as long as they keep getting me points.

Seriously though, I agree that I don't think they are going to shut down the Rams O. I'm just hoping for Kurt Warner picks, and a fumble or two.

My other league is worse. I'm down by five points, and I have the TB D and Warner against Holt and Wilkins. Come on Isaac Bruce, bust out tonight baby!

Detroit Wyverns September 23rd, 2002 12:28 PM

Hehe well, as it turns out, I lost by about 3 points. Ahh well, you win some close ones, and you lose some. At least I didn't lose by the 0.35 points I THOUGHT I had lost by. :)

Mike, I think you're right about TB D being overrated. However, you still have plenty of reason to be nervous! St. Louis gives TO's away in bunches, even when they're playing well! And Tampa's got to return a kickoff for a TD at least once in their history.

Either way, I don't think I'll be watching this game... ton of studying to do.... :(

Urza's Ragers September 23rd, 2002 01:37 PM

Studying is overrated as much as Tampa Bay D.

Amen to that! However, I think my prof may be of a differing opinion.

Hmmm... what exactly would the Rams D have to accomplish to score 76 points?

Boy, the Rams really do lool like Shit. Congrats Dodgers... I almost had you by a point or 2 until that last minute pick for a TD.

Shit happens... good luck taking out the Squirrels and Ragers :)!

Nittany Dodgers September 24th, 2002 09:55 AM

Thanks Mike. Gotta love that TB D, it got me just what I needed for victory in two leagues. Now if Curtis Martin would just get it going.

Royal Hawaiian Opihi September 24th, 2002 01:52 PM

I think two weeks in a row is enough... please give the Bucs' D a rest this week when you play my OPIHI. We could use all the help we can get!!!

Looking forward to the matchup!

Mike, it looks like you team is in need of a remedial course. Feel free to send them to Nittany Dodger Headquarters for a crash course. :D

I haven't gotten any breaks, I'm in the top 5 or 6 in scoring, and have faced the 3rd most difficult schedule in the league.

You can't control luck, it's just not my year so far. But don't get too full of yourself Dodgers... it often comes back to bite you in the ASS ! :moon: :****you:

I know it will come back to bite me, but it's much easier to talk trash when you're winning. So I have to strike while the iron is hot (as my team is), its now or never!

I hear ya, I'm dishing out quite a bit of it myself in the 2 leagues where I'm 5-0, even have it in my sig. :D

Plus, if you can't trash talk a week after you won your 4th straight game, to go to 4-1 while setting the single game record for points with 191.75 in the two year history of the league, when can you talk trash?

I'd say not bad for a team that I thought .500 would be optimistic, given I had no quality receivers, no depth at RB, and two QBs ready for retirement at a moments notice.
