Frank,

Unless I missed a ove somewhere, the addition of Buckhalter puts you 89 cb's OVER the cap. At least that's how it shows in MFL.

Please double check you numbers and let me know if I made an error. If not, please make a move within the 24 hour time limit to get in compliance!

I think this rule may apply again this week:

If a player's 24 hour challenge period hasn't expired prior to 11:59pm on Saturday, bidding on that player will suspend until the following Tuesday at 12:00am when the 24 hour clock will resume.


Should solve the previous problem.

This rule is only for player bids to carry over.

Once a player sells, a team has 24 hours to be in cap/contract/roster compliane. There is no forgiveness or weekend carry over in this case.

They're both cut.

Do you have the signing bonus penalty in place for Kiel (123 cb's)? Or the waiver claim credit for June (10 cb's)?

A coupe weeks prior, Daryl Smith had an 80 cb signing bonus penalty as well.

Daryl Smith 220 (80 bonus) - 124 total - 96 free
Terrence Kiel 336 (122 bonus) - 189 total - 147 free
Cato June 200 ( 0 bonus) - 40cb - 20cb (waiver claim) - 20 cbs total - 180 free

Total 423 free

Daryl SMith was cut for Gerald Hayes - 94 -100 cbs: + 4 cbs
Terence Kiel was cut for Sean Jones - 147 - 100 cbs: -47
Cato JUne was cut for Scott Fujita - 180 - 105 cbs : - 75

Equals 118 free...

and befor ethose cuts I have about 200 + cbs freed... don't know how the app and MFL have a 100+ cb difference.

I also have 419 cbs free from IR players...

So that's 537 of created capspace to account for the 705 of Berrian/Westbrook (168 that we're looking for)

If you add up everything manually....

Active roster - 18622
IR - 419
Soft Cap - 177
Hard Cap - 751

Total: 19969

Which is 31 cbs under the cap, which the app should reflect after JUne is claimed.

Your cap penalties don't match MFL. MFL has things as:

For a total of 1018 in penalties, which is 90 cb's higher than what you have.

BTW, I did correct the Waiver claim credit for June (I had it as 10 instead of 20). You're still 59 over the cap however.

ETA, your Active roster contracts match MFL at 18,622. And the IR credit is also correct at 419. You're difference is in the cuts, you're missing something in the roster app.

My point being, that he would not have sold until 12:05am on Sunday. I may be way off the mark, but I thought the bid would have suspended at 11:59pm on Saturday. Then not selling until 12:05am on Tuesday.
I am sure I am probably missing something, but it seems pretty straight forward to me. If I am wrong just throw the :idiot smiley at me.

Whoops, you're right.. .Buckhalter is still a UFA and doesn't sell till tonight at 12:05am. I was thinking the 30th was a Friday bid. My bad. Thanks Brett.

I believe that Valencia is correct. This action stopped Saturday at midnight. It is paused until tonight midnight, where it will have 5 min remaining before he sells.

He was last bid on FRIDAY, SEPT 29 at 11:05 PM so 24 hours is SATURDAY, SEPT 30 at 11:05 PM which is before 11:59 PM when bids would hold. He sold 54 minutes before bids suspend. He is sold no matter what.

The discrepenices in cap hits come from Kieho, Tulloch, and Alton who were rookies cut in pre-season and never assigned contract years.

Which is 25, 43, 21 which totals to 89 cbs... MFL says I'm over 59... so that leaves 30 cbs free which is what the app has more or less!

Man I update the roster app... no way was I over.

BUKHALTER SOLD BEFORE 11:59 PM ON SATURDAY PEOPLE! He was bidded on FRIDAY 11:05 PM which on my clock comes before 11:59 PM!

Daylight savings is what screwed Frank up. Eastern is GMT-5 when daylight savings isn't in effect, but since it's still daylight savings, we're GMT-4 at the moment.

I have mine set for Central Time, and the time stamp is 11:05 PM Central Time, which is 12:05 PM Eastern (FWIW).

Well Brian seems like you're way off haha... so what time do you use to manage your posts? YOu assume it's Eastern Time zone although you have your set to Central?


My contention is that I have my board time set to EST -5 GMT and DST auto detect on... like Mike and I assume Noah. However, do to a bug in the message board system mine is an hour behind. Bceause of the message board error I would like to close the Bukhalter auction... since no one did bid on him in 24 hours and if I knew that I was an hour behind I wouldve bid 6 minutes earlier or an hour earlier.

I mean my baord settings are exactly the same as Mike's... GMT -5 w/ DST auto detect. So I techincally am under board time.

Mine is set for Central Time -6 GMT so the times listed are my local times. I'd rather see my local time for the post and do the conversion to eastern time, than to see the Eastern Time post and convert to Cetral, I'm not sure why.

Regardless, the message was posted at 11:05 PM Central Time, which is 12:05 AM Eastern time according to my settings.

The buckahlet auctiuon is not going to close because you THOUGHT it was still friday, or else you MIGHT have bid an hour earlier.

The auctions is STILL open, and the whining over it makes me want to place a bid!

I'm just stating fact... the auctions are based on BOARD TIME, which so happens to be based on the Eastern Time Zone.

The thing is... my board settings are on Eastern Time Zone exactly the same as yours.... GMT -5 and DST auto detect on. So thus my board time, is just as correct as yours. IT's a flaw in in the message board not me.

I think this is a feature of the the way DST autodetect works.

I believe the board looks at your computer to see if the DST flag is set. Since flax does not use DST out west it screws up the time.

You're not seriously going to try and argue that your bid was placed at 11:05pm ET are you?

The board's time is based on GMT. What users set or see in their CP is whatever time they want, but when a post is made, the same standrad time is used,it's just converted to whatever time you have on display.

As for board time and the bid... THE RULES SAY EASTERN TIME, not board time. It's pretty clear cut.

FTR, if the silliness proceeds, my next post in this debate will be a bid.

where od the rules say eastern?I just checked and all the mention is actually a 24 hour period... only mention of Eastern as far as free agency is when free agency begins.

Eastern is never stated in the 24 hour time time period... only says time stamped.
