No I'll take my chances on C-Pep for 200 dollars.

That's one thing. To label him a steal worthy of being excited about is something different. Given there is serious questions of whether he'll ever start again, and the additional questions of if he starts, will he perform, he really isn't worth much more than next to nothing at this point.

He will start again maybe not Week 1, but possibly by mid-season or thorugh next year IMO.

Once he becomes a starter I have to believe he will deliver unless he does otherwise, every year he has been healthy he has been the Top QB in football.

Yes he is a steal at 200 cbs.

On the active roster only David Garrad at 188 has a cheaper contract. In all of SACD including rookie salaries only Kyle Orton (194), Bruce Gradkowski (171), Omar Jacobs (149), Jordan Palmer (125), Tyler Palko (110), Ingle Martin (110) are paid less than C-Pep.

So yes he is a steal and will be a future trading chip, economic backup, or an ultra cheap starter.

C-Pep = STEAL.

He's always been a viable QB because he could run. Running helped him both in terms of FF (obviously with rushing stats) and real football by making up for his weaknesses as a QB. In order to be a viable FF player again, he's going to need to be able to run. If he can't run, he can't be productive as an NFL QB. If he can't be productive as an NFL QB, he's not going to play and obviously not going to be a FF starter.

Take a look at the way be played his last season in MN before the injury and last year with Miami. Don't look at the FF points per game, look at the way he actually played. He played flat out bad, and until they turn his knee into a bionic knee, he's done.

But, I've had this debate far too many times already (just ask the Popes), so if you're happy with him, congrats and good luck with him.

Joey "QB" Harrington at 100 last year was a much better deal. Don't break your spine patting yourself on the back.

And since when did Harrington rank #1 as a fantasy QB?

:agree:

My :2cents: is that CPep is DONE. I've moved along, wouldn't have even paid the league minimum for him.

Well 11 other knowledgable fantasy owners disagree and decided he wasn't worth 1% of their cap space.

Bidding 200cbs is not equal to 130+ IQ... At least not in the real world.. Good try though.

It would have been a better place to start for somebody that looks like he is going to end up the #3 QB in JAX.. I doubt anybody would have bid on him still, maybe a couple of $5 bumps at most.

I still wouldn't bid 100 on him. Best of luck to you, but I'd see that signing as a negative if I was a Raider homey.

As a Raider fan... I do not mind this signing.. Never a bad thing to bring a vet in.
I think "worse case scenario" he can be a mentor. Best case... A return to .. :yikes: :respect: OK... May be my :homer: 'ism is coming out.. But not a bad get on the cheap.

A mentor? What is Daunte going to teach Russell? How to solely rely on his physical skills and never develop as a real QB?
