I hate to be the one that points out the obvious here...
But, isn't this too late.. The only reason I point this out is that I think I lost some players in a simular situation. I think it was appointing years to rookies or it may have been FA's of some sort... but, if you miss a date.. ????
This is the rule:
Tuesday August 28 at 11:59pm
- Off-Season Free Agency ENDS
- All Contracts must be declared
- Draftees must be declared as Active, Taxi Squad, or Practice Squad else they be released as UFA's

Just want to keep things straight.
Late,
Brett

I remember recently something to do with a trade you made, having to declare years, I don't recall the exact situation and don't have time to look back at previous posts....but I remember we gave you some leeway to get in complience. Doggs posted his contract years, just left out the rookies, and I let him know and he posted as soon as he got to a computer. I think a little leeway is called for again (seems to be a lot of that since I've taken over as commish). It seems to me that most of the rules are to prevent teams from trying to take advantage of certain situations. Maybe I am looking at things the wrong way; if everyone else disagrees, let me know.

Brett, I think it was two years ago you lost out on some players. I was looking back through the threads, and last year we had a couple of guys under the required amount of IDPs, and we were lenient for first infractions. I think leniency is called for here as well.

As was stated in those threads, I think the rules are written as they are to help identify and stay on top of potential dead beat owners, of which I don't think we have any. Coming down as hard on you as we did probably wasn't the best course of action, IMO.

That was a problem with the wording of the rules and a misunderstanding. I didn't make any changes or accept any "leeway" (I agree it was offered). I was really just trying to point out a problem in the rules in that situation.
I am not being a hard ass... I was just pointing out something I thought was an obvious rules violation.. The dates were posted a couple of times as reminders. I did have this situation last year(or maybe the year before) and missed some decleration date and it cost me. I don't mind "letting it slide", but I do think it needs to be pointed out.

Ya... I was looking back in the posts also and couldn't find it (I saw the stuff on the IDP's).. Like I said, I don't mind being lenient here. I just thought it was something that needed to be pointed out.
