Cut RB Clinton Portis, WAS [2450 cbs]
 

Need to make room for newly-acquired Patriot RB Kevin Faulk.

Well, I was hoping this day wouldn't come... but it's here. I never really expected to get Portis during the RFA period... and I had to dramatically alter how I finished out the RFA and FA period, due to my limited cap room.

Prior to the cut, I had 4 empty roster spots... no backup QB/K/D's. I knew at some point I'd have to do something radical.

I like Witten's ability to make a solid contribution this season more than Portis... so I'm going to have to part ways with this flamboyant Redskin.

Did I just sink my chances for repeating as champion? Who knows... but I'm pretty confident I'll remain very competitive this season.

Now... anyone want to make a claim and save me the 490 cap hit?

Well, you showed last year you could deal with cap hits as good as anyone, and you're off to a big head start this year in that department.
