It's getting close to the deadline and we are still missing RFA declarations from Tennessee Cowtippers, Bloomington Eco Warriors, Dos Clowns, Dell Dudes, and Valencia Vibe.

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

Just talked to Bryan of Dos Clowns, and he will be posting soon. I have been emailing Ryan, and he is putting his head together with Ben to get their teams straight and post by the deadline....looking at Mutts roster, he may not want to tag anyone (heh)...we can all hope that Vibe doesn't make it...he has some studs that could stock the pool for a FA feeding frenzy.....

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

Down to Dos Clowns and Valencia Vibe to declare RFAs

Something at home came up and I wasn't able to post our RFA's. Oh well. Sucks to be us.

I've update the thread showing 2008 league RFA's here: http://www.predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12006

Please verify that your RFA's are listed. Use this list once the bidding starts to keep track of bidding activity and who is still available to bid on.

I bet you guys never thought you'd see the day where Shaun Alexander goes for a 6th round tender...I wonder if that was too low?

With Julius Jones and TJ Duckett in Seattle now, it might be too high....

Well for 500 bucks, I can take the one-year risk. I think Alexander will be sent packing after the draft and find a place to try and resurrect his career. We'll see.

Wow....where is everybody? This time last year, it seemed like a third of the players were in play already....

haha thanks. This is much more complicated than the other league i am in, and I thought it was actually pretty heavy duty compared to most. This makes your basic yahoo's and ESPN's look like a complete waste ot time and talent.

Here is a question for you:

If I am bidding on a player like LT and like Chad Johnson and I win both... What happens with the 1st round tenders thing? Do I really have to give up a first round pick tp that person or is that just a way to denote salaries? If I don't have 2 first round picks then what happens if I win 2 guys?

Excuse the newness of the question, I am sure in a year this question will seem pretty silly even to me.

There are no silly questions. The compensation is an added on pick at the end of the round the pick is taken in. The person who wins the player gives up nothing. Compensation is based on points accumulated via players lost and level of RFA declaration. See the following thread for point values.

So does Henry's release give him more or less value?

pacificscrub April 3rd, 2008 09:36 PM

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

You can't really answer that until there's some idea of where he'll end up. Someone will be willing to take a chance on him, but the question revolves around who?

Flaxwless April 3rd, 2008 09:38 PM

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

So who's the owner that's gonna gamble?

pacificscrub April 3rd, 2008 09:39 PM

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

Looks like it's me unless someone else decides he's worth a gamble.

No one, if he gets convicted and the league suspends him for the year.

I guess I WAAAY underestimated Marvin's value.

Damn.

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

One of the new owners now has high bids totalling 11.5K with only 7.5K to spend. Better be careful or you're going to get bitten here.

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

I guess it is okay to BID more than you have just as long as you don't get 'stuck' with it? And if you DID get stuck with it (eg won all the bids) you then have to cut players to make cap room?

pacificscrub April 5th, 2008 09:22 PM

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

Yes with the caviat that you can't cut franchise players or RFAs that that didn't get bid up over their tender, you have to account for the cap hit associated with cutting players, and you have to retain enough cap space to field the minimum number of offensive and defensive players...and all that doesn't take into account having enough left over for rookie salaries, assuming you want to keep anyone you draft.:bling:

Re: 2008 SAC'd RFA Commentary

Wooo! Got Jamal Lewis!!

I'm glad I got Lewis b/c I don't think I'd be able to pry away any of the other RBs from their tendering teams and my Plan B would've been the stud WRs... but with Chad Johnson and Andre Johnson over 3k, the 3500 for Jamal Lewis is a great value IMO.

Between Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, Brandon Jacobs, Micheal Turner, Ernest Graham, my 1.2 rookie pick, and hopefully Rudi Johnson I have to be able to find 2 RBs that can produce consistently along side Randy Moss, Steve Smith, Lee Evans, and Kevin Curtis.

Like in Frenzy, I think my team is shaping up to be a serious contender after a horrible year... if everyone can stay healthy, my downfall last year, I'll make sure I'll make it tough on Burt.
