The Gunslingers send Cedric "Budwieser" Benson and pick 6.16 (Mr. Irrelevant) for pick 6.07. Both picks are in the 2008 Draft

Not that I disagree with doing the deal, but it's amazing how quickly and how far a 1st round pick can fall.

Unfortunately, Benson ranks right up there with Charles Rogers as high picks that I would like to have back. At this point it was more of a take what I can get (and save the cap hit when he needs to be cut). For the Attack if he somehow makes it through and can play then they have the Chicago situation more or less locked up.

Honestly, I expect the Bears to cut Benson, and won't be surprised if a NFL suspension is looming down the line as well.

This was a hedge more than anything, but I am in no way sold on the arrogant SOB (his teammates HATE him).
