Just realized how this deal went to the shitter after the NFL draft.

Man.

Trading away Greg Jennings, Bowe, Stewart, and 1.6 for essentially Cutler and Winslow.

Brutal.

Depends on how well all these players do in the future, still looks good to me.

That truly scares me Dale. How can you look at that post and tell me it depends on anything? You made a horrible combination of deals there (which is why we can't get anything done now:idiot:).

Gotta be kidding me?

Hightower and Torain were so impressive their teams felt they needed to draft 1st round RBs despite glaring weakness on their defense.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

I got the QB and TE I wanted, thats all I'm looking at.
Hihgtower is a maybe as well as Torain, I knew that going in.

Hightower was not so good at this point, but wells, hes a show boater, slacker, if he plays hard, then Hightower gets less carries, if his true colors show based on the research on this guy, the reason he fell to Arizona that late is because of his work ethic, so the jury is still out if he will play a major role.

Like I said its all subjective and a crap shoot, I dont expect to do so well this year, I am rebuilding based on guys i think will be better for me in the long run.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

Still, you gave up two "maybe" RBs for a young, top 10, WR in Jennings, at a very good value. I understand at the time the deal looked decent, but you can't still really think things are looking good. Hightower still has value because Wells seems to always get banged up but Torian is trying to return from a torn ACL and is buried on the depth chart.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

No worries, only time will tell.
The way I see it i got the QB I wanted, easier to find a RB or WR.
Just building my team with guys I want, so I knew I was giving away more, and Burt Knew I really wanted Cutler, so I see it as I got my QB to build on now.
I don't expect to contend this year, I'm building for long term.

Sounds good.

I could kinda understand why you made the trade before, but I guess you're just more optimistic than me because after the draft I would've been bitching about who they drafted.

Than again it seems like Cutler and Winslow were the main targets and the RBs were just a throw in.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

The fact that you're using an unknown rookie to talk about attitude and health issues when you just dealt the farm for a prima donna QB (now with no receivers) and a TE who's never played a full season kind of makes my point. I also think you'll find it a bit harder to find quality RBs and WRs than you think, but like you said, time will tell. I will point out that you gave away a reasonably high 1st this year and by your own admission, a potentially very high 1st next year. Exactly how do you propose to build a contender when you're dealing away all your picks? Even McHoodie is laughing at you dealing away a top 3 pick next year. At least he got 2 real-life 1sts for the knucklehead!

I doubt McHoodie finds it funny that his owner has been publicly questioning his personnel decisions.. no I don't think he is laughing at anything right now! And sorry Scrub, the fact that the Broncos got 2 1st round picks actually disproves your point: The rest of the league realized that a QB of Cutler's calliber hitting the FA market was a once in-a-decade opportunity.. and they were willing to pay appropriately and capitalize on that mistake. I am sure Scorpions felt the same way when they made the deal..

I am also sure Baltimore Colt fans were telling themselves the same line of self-pandering BS when that other 'prima-donna' QB John Elway came into the league, but refused to play for them. Like Cutler, Elway realized that would be stuck with a team and a system that simply wouldn't allow him to succeed.. Can't really blame either of them for wanting out. Even more interesting is that the Broncos 'paid' then almost the same price that the Bears 'paid' now for Cutler:

Elway: A starting QB, a 1st round OL and a 1st round pick.
Cutler: A starting QB, 2 2st round picks + some etcetera..

Clearly that was a very good long-term purchase by the Broncos, and considering that Cutler is several years ahead of Elway in his development as an elite QB (he is only 25 folks!) I am sure it will be also great long-term purchase by the Bears (and the Scorpions) as well...

Nice job McHoodie :tribe: NOT!

I still have my 1st round pick next year, and 3 2nd rounders this year, 2 3rds this year, I think i'm doing good.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

I guess bottom lin eis i'm not the one trying to make a point.
I got who i wanted, and feel good about my rebuild plan.

Re: Scorpions sting Floyds

I feel the same about Cutler PencilGeeks, the way i see it, on a team with a defense, and now hes playing with his #1 target in college, I think he will do good in Chicago.

And, I feel the hardest postions to get a solid player is the QB and TE slots.
With most teams running a multi back set, and 2+ WR's, I think i have plenty to build on the next few years, I'm in this for the long haul.
