So I tender Ben as RFA for 400, the price goes to 900 (so I'm capped out) only to have him cut and go to the Opihi for what would have been a very affordable 461 as a retained RFA.

Boy I've got a lot to learn on how to "play the system" :) Go BULGER! Weee

Well, I would have been happy to keep Big Ben at 900..but, as I seem to ALWAYS forget to check, did not check his Bye week...thus both my QB's had same week off...so I went after Rivers, not realizing I would get him at half the price of Big Ben...naturally I had to cut Ben, as I couldn't afford to carry 3 QB's...no real strategy behind that whole string of transactions...sorry to disappoint ;-)

a lot of it depends on WHEN you have to make decisions on him. During RFA time, I thought 900 was a bit high, but not completely unreasonable. However, with some of the other upper-tier QBs going around the mid 500's... 900 becomes "overpriced".
