I had a feeling he was gonna go 3rd even if I didn't, I'm happy with my pick. I think my guy have a better chance especially with new QB and management!!

Well, you know what happens to CAL RB's in the NFL...so maybe 'Best' you did not have the option.....

Wow, is Jahvid Best really worth that much? I should try to see what I can get for Adrian Peterson.

I would give you MForte for him but maybe you should shop around...my trading skills are somewhat suspect...of course you have to like the moves I'm making, Mike, with you owning my 2011 natural 1st!!!

Honestly, I was leaning towards my pick. It was 70-30...

My ability to determine values in this league is not very good. If I assume Jahvid Best for 1.06 and 1.10 is fair, then basically:

J Best = (B Tate or D Bryant) + (someone like Gebhart or G Tate)

I'll gladly take the right side of this equation, but, like I said, it seems like my valuations are quite off.

Heh..dude has talent for sure...but really, since Chuck Muncie, CAL RB's have been big disspointments...QB's, WR's and TE's are a different story...

Re: 1.3 RB Jahvid Best Detroit

I'll be pulling for this kid. I spent 90 minutes talking with his agent (Tony Fleming) last night on a flight from Charlotte to Buffalo. It was a real interesting conversation, particularly since he told me that he had joked with Jahvid the night before about where he end up, with Best saying please not Detroit, and Tony saying, watch you go there.

Then as they sat in the green room, and the 1st round was coming to a close they were happy just to be selected in the 1st round. Detroit or not!

Anyhow, on the positive side, Tony told me Jahvid has a good head on his shoulders, and he feels he has a great opportunity to become a star in Detroit and WILL be starting. Now keep in mind, he told me this after we had talked about other players he had represented in the past that didn't have their heads on straight, players like Lawrence Phillips, WR Mike Williams, David Boston and even Jamal Lewis. We had some real interesting discussion on those 4! Anyhow, he told me he knew the players most likely to bust, and how hard he tried to prevent it (personal trainers, nutritionists and personal chefs, in home sitters to keep them on task and out of trouble, etc.

Also on David Boston, he told me he knew the day David Boston signed the $47 million contract in San Diego he was likely to bust. David himself questioned if he could live up to iot while in the limo with Tony just prior to signing the contract, because in San Diego Boston had to keep clean because he was in the NFL's drug program, whereas, when he played in Arizona he played fearless because he was always on some sort of high (reportedly took over 90 pills of herbal supplements a day). And I was a big Boston fan too. Of course, I think we all knew he was on something with his upper body.
