I'm just now getting around to some updates...but I believe a cut needed to be made for Kyle Orton.

The one discrepancy I see with the website is that RB Kolby Smith should be on the Active Squad. He was drafted in 2007. This being the 2010 season, he either needed to be cut or promoted from the TS. Since no cut was made, he was automatically promoted to the AS.

Kolby is listed on AS on roster app but not website (if properly placed on AS on website the overage would have been noted there as well).

If the KOLBY SMITH promotion (from TS to active) made it to the official excel spreadsheet at the start of the season, then there's no wiggle room here. I have him on my spreadsheet, so I'm assuming everyone else does (at least those who've downloaded the updates).

Therefore, if there was no cap room on the Ragers, Orton should be released and the usual penalties apply. The Ragers are prohibited from bidding on him for 30 days.

The OPIHI would like to place a claim on ORTON... IF waiver claims are allowed on players cut from penalty. I don't know if there's precedence in this. Since I'm involved in this, my Commish hat comes off. Burt... how is this handled in SAC'D?

If this is not allowed, I'll simply bid on him in the thread the Scorpions started.

I would have to check our boards, not sure anyone has ever tried to claim a player cut due to roster violations.

But the rules state "If the player in question was acquired via free agency, the player will be released back into the free agency pool, and the penalties will be assessed, based on the number of previous infractions."

So this pretty clearly states the player will go right to FA pool, and not via Waiver Wire. I would rule that a player cut due to roster violation is not waiver eligible.
