Everyone please comment
Hey guys,
I was thinking it would be fair to allow the new owner to not only reneg this years players if he chooses, but also give him an option to reneg any qualifying players from last year, namely Turner...I am sure we can all agree an active owner would have done that in a heartbeat, and for the sake of keeping competitive, we should allow this one time option... Thoughts? Anyone object. |
Re: Everyone please comment
I'm ok with M. Turner as he should have been reneged. I'm not so sure about some others like RB F. Jackson and DB C. Woodson. He bid on those guys last year and was active at declaration time and only declared 1 year on them.
I just happen to remember those guys because I was bidding on them. Also I think (not sure though) he picked up RB Chester Taylor and chose 1 year for him. |
Re: Everyone please comment
Hit me with limits and restrictions and I'll go from there...
(ie: max 3 guys total but not CWoodson or CTaylor , no more then 1 of each scoring group, etc.) |

So who would be elgible? I misunderstood...

Re: Everyone please comment
You can renegotiate any player with 2 years left his contract and you have until 31 March to do this.
We're still waiting for others to weigh in on 1 contract year players (ie Michael Turner). |
Re: Everyone please comment
basically, as Bobby said, any player who has 2 years or more left on their contract can be renegotiated. On April 1st, contracts roll over, thus March 31st is the last day to reneg contracts on players with 2 years left. So, those players signed last year to 1 or 2 year deals are not eligible.

Re: Everyone please comment
So like MLynch and LTimmons could be renegotiated before March 31st?
Then the 1 time exception (if no objections) would be MTurner? What about DE MWilliams or any LB's??? |
Re: Everyone please comment
Do what you gotta do, so long as nothing gets taken advantage of. We were granted leeway when we took over the team we have so I think some roster changes/options can be afforded.

Re: Everyone please comment
I'm fine with that, his team was neglected for a long itme.
|
Re: Everyone please comment
Yeah, I am fine with it as the more competitive teams the better....
The only comment would be that I didn't have the option to make free moves when I took over a team that was in shambles...like giving both Andre Johnson and Housh the 4000+ / 4 yr contracts (so about half my cap was taken by 2 guys). I had to absorb the cap penalty to cut Housh or be in "salary cap hell" since I had to room to pick up anyone. In the end, I just want the league to function so I'd rather get a good owner in...so I am fine letting him reneg a few guys. |
Re: Everyone please comment
I agree Scott, that the previous owner made some questionable signings...but he was active, and kept his team up to date..Mutts has not done ANYTHING to his team other than the minimum for 2 full years, could argue 3.

Re: Everyone please comment
For my 1 time reneg adjustment I would propose:
1) MTurner 2009 442/2 reneg to 742/5 to 816/4 to 898/3 in 2011 2) MWilliams 2009 182/2 reneg to 482/5 to 530/4 to 583/3 in 2011 3) DJWilliams 2009 242/2 reneg to 542/5 to 596/4 to 656/3 in 2011. According to Burt the Mutts were 19years and 2841 cb under cap in 2009. After this adjustment is approved then I am up to speed on declaring up to 3 RFA's by March 24th and franchise up to 1 player by March 31st like everyone else in the league. I will continue to ask newbie questions but will pay the going rate for mistakes. Thank you. John - Devil Bay Hell Mutts or "Helmets" for short. |

Re: Everyone please comment
I don't have a problem with this proposal. After all he is a Colts fan (I presume).

Re: Everyone please comment
Fine by me.

Re: Everyone please comment
Looks like we have a majority John. So these Reneg's are approved, and they will be reflected on both 2010 and 2011 MFL sites. Patrick can take care of App.
And welcome to SAC'd...a great addition!! Quote:
