Player Official Position question

I've got a few guys that will play multiple positions and I wondered if there is any precedent on this.
Dorin Dickerson plays both TE and WR. It now seems Mario Williams will not only play DE (DL) but may also play LB with the Texans switch to the 3-4.
The rules seem to say use them at position team lists them at (using Deion Sanders example in Starting line up section). If so do I have to wait and see where the team lists them at and if they switch up do I get some kind of "grace period"?
The reason I ask is I am trying to determine if I have to replace MWilliams
starting DL slot on my roster and make room with LB's BEFORE our rookie draft - the answer would affect my draft strategy. A recent article says he will be switched to LB in Houston's 3-4 move... Do we have an "official source" for NFL team roster listings?

Yes, we use MFL to designate players position qualification...based on the following:

And since you have taken over updating the Rule book for Scott, you might want to make sure to add this too at some point John

Thanks for the replies. Great read about precedent and conclusions (and journey to get there). Plenty of predraft info to help IDP newbie before 2011 rookie draft.
Thanks again!

Re: Player Official Position question

Also, if you want to check anything, MFL takes the rosters from Rotoworld.com. So you can go to rotoworld -> NFL - > Depth Charts to check where a player is listed. If you look at the Texans, Mario Williams is listed as the starting OLB so it is pretty safe to assume he will be a LB on the MFL site. Also, Dickerson is only listed on their WR depth chart, not on the TE list.
