For the first time in a LONG time, I'm pretty much out of the playoff hunt. So I've decided to start rebuilding. My acquisition of Peyton "Madden Cover Jinx" Hillis is the first major move. Cutting MJD to make room.

Sure, keeping MJD might help me more THIS season, but I'm looking to 2012 and beyond (cue Buzz Lightyear music)!

Only time will tell if it's wise or foolish...

I wasn't doing a "cut him & hope to resign him at a cheaper price" move here. I figured someone might make a claim. I had 4 potential first-round RFAs to tag for next season, so I made a difficult choice. Hope he brings you the championship this year, Burt!

I was debating which one.
Went with the higher priced RB to cut... thinking that Gore's been playing better this year, and I might be able to resign him a bit cheaper next year because of his age. Might have been the wrong choice. We'll see.

Talk about real tough luck....the MJD points from Week 13 probably would have brought Opihi to the critical #5 in the power rankings!

Not sure how the power rankings are scored... but the Insects had me by 86 points (total points on the season)... so I'm not sure that even the few more than MJD had would have done it.

I think what sunk me was keeping too many points on the bench this season. (sigh)
