I believe I won this auction as of 10:58am today.

OK – Here is what I hope to do after winning the Stephen Jackson auction for 1580 cb’s.
I believe I am at 3 cb’s (though MFL lists me at +43 after cutting James Jones and adding Buffalo). If I add Jackson’s 1580 and subtract my start of 3 I’m at –1577.
If I IR MForte (2000/1) who is listed as Questionable I save 1000 cb’s bringing my total down to –577.
If I cut both my recent waiver claims MManningham (380/1) + Buffalo (199/1) with no penalty

:: Rules quote in the Waiver Wire section::
If the waived player is claimed, the waiving team receives a credit in the amount of 10% of the current year�s salary (the portion of the cap hit that does not pertain to the signing bonus) to their active roster salary cap. If the claimed player is subsequently released during the length of the same contract, the waiving team will receive a cap hit of only 10% of the current years salary, as the singing bonus is to be considered paid by the original team. If the player is claimed through the waiver wire, the second waiving team will receive the 10% cap credit, and essentially no penalty for releasing the player.

then I stand at 380+199=579 and 579-577=2 cb’s to the good.

I’m off to work and won’t be back until early Wed morning. If no issues with my scenario then I will put through these changes on Preds Forum then. If I won Jackson at 10:58am on Tues then that would be within the 24 hour time limit. Later.

You highlighted the wrong sentence.

This is where you fall with Manningham and Buffalo D. If they are subsequently picked up after being waived a 2nd time in-season, THAT team would be able to drop them without penalty.

In your case there is a 10% cap penalty for dropping Manningham and Buffalo D if you go that route.

If you are correct then I will just cut Forte. We went through this toward the end of last year so I thought a precedent was set...

i beleive also in that rule, someone would have to put in a claim for mannignham and buf D, you always get a cap hit unless someone else claims, then the % comes into question only if hes claimed.

Manningham was waived, then claimed by you, providing 10% cap relief to the original team.

Buffalo D was waived, then claimed by you, providing 10% cap relief to the original team.

In both cases, if you decide to waive them, you are re-waiving the claimed player during the same contract, and will be assessed a 10% penalty.

If either/or are then claimed on waivers a 2nd time during the same contract, and waived a 3rd time at a future date, THAT team will receive no penalty.

I am leaning towards origional idea plus cutting a TE or 2nd Def to cover cb shortage. Again, will finalize early Wed AM.

updated burners cap adjustments, they now match exact to roster app with all transactions now inputed, you are correct, you have 3 cbs now
