PASSES with 7 Votes - TS/PS allotment: 5 TS/5 PS (any 3rd or 4th rounder PS eligible)
Reposting the poll after texting with Jim (at his request).
There are 4 options for change. You can vote for MULTIPLE OPTIONS if you're comfortable with them. If not, simply choose the "NO" option. In order to pass, any of the options must have the league-requiring majority. If more than one option passes, we'll have a run-off. |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
What about a "YES - 5 Taxi / 4 Practice (any 3rd or 4th rounder PS eligible)" option?
I don't like the "YES - 4 Taxi / 5 Practice (any 3rd or 4th rounder PS eligible)" option. |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
done.

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
If we did a 4 player Taxi option, I would also propose that we also adjust the contract years cap from 20 to 16; otherwise there would be no contract years cap for the Taxi...which may be how everyone wants it.

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
For those of us who have already voted, I don't think it's possible to go back and add additional votes to the new option. SO... reply to this thread and I can add your vote to the 4th option in, via admin privileges (which is what I did for my vote in this category!).

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
BTW to clarify the wording in the poll, I set it up to be ANY 3rd or 4th rounder, which means you could trade on or off the S with other teams and aren't limited solely to players you specifically draft on the PS.
With the inclusion of 3rd rounders on the PS I think it'd be way too limiting to not allow movement between practice squads via trade and/or waivers. |

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
So you want to allow a waiver guy to go on your Practice Squad and NOT count against cap??? Really??? You had to go out and actively win this guy and now you want to stash him??? Absolutely NOT!!!! That goes against the intent of the PRACTICE squad...Hell...just do away with the practice squad if that is what you want...Nope...I would strenuously voice my concern with allowing that....

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
I don't believe Mike meant a free agent. A waiver would be someone that was an original 3rd or 4th round draft pick who was either released by his original drafting team, or traded & released then claimed via wavers. No free agent acquisitions are ever TS/PS eligible.

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Yah I didn't read it that way either.
I think this should be a separate vote though, not lumped in with this vote |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Agreed
|
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
I don't want any waiver claims eligible for PS...again, you hunted this player down and wanted him on your team, thus he should not be able to be stashed and not count against cap...
|
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
I strongly disagree... IF the claimed waiver player is still on their original drafted contract. That's not "hunting down." That's picking up another's (potential)mistake

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
I'll just have to disagree then...the intent and premium status of the PS in particular was to develop players through the draft...to have ANOTHER owner be able to "stash" a player and not have them count against the cap just seems all wrong to me...TS or active roster - fine...other than that, count me out of that business...
|
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
To borrow a phrase from The Princess Bride... "I don't think that word (stash) means what you think it means." Let me remind you that WAIVER CLAIMS are open to the entire league.
But... you can always suggest a rules change, if you feel strongly about it. |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Looks to be a mute point anyways...not enough people voting
|
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
:(

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
I get that waiver claims are open to everyone...I guess I am stuck on the fact that I see the PS as used only for players you specifically draft...period...TS is a little less restrictive in nature and active roster is wide open...I LIKE the fact that only guys I draft can be on my PS...somehow someone got to Pred and he turned far left wing as in anything goes now...its the wild west of fantasy football...I'm all for making the rules better for the enjoyment of the competition, but I feel as though we are losing some of the basic structure that was present when I joined just a few short years ago...I am a good soldier and will march along with you guys as we figure this out...
STASHED in my mind is putting a player on PS...he does NOT count against salary cap...hence STASHED!!! |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Ok. Understood. But current rules allow traded players to go on another team's PS...unless I'm mistaken.
|
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Actually NO....per the rules...
6C. Practice Squad Each team will have a Practice Squad of no more than three players. There is no cyber buck, or contract cap to the Practice Squad. Practice Squad cyberbuck and contract year caps will not count against a team's regular cap unless a player is activated to the active roster. Players on the Practice Squad can be promoted to the active roster at any time the active roster can accommodate the salary and contract years. Players can only be placed on the Practice Squad from the annual rookie draft, and only 4th round selections are eligible for the Practice Squad. There is a limit of only one player per year added to a teams practice squad. Once activated from the Practice Squad to either the Taxi Squad or the Active Roster, a player may never be placed back on the Practice Squad. A player initially assigned to the Taxi Squad or the Active Roster cannot be placed on the Practice Squad. A player must be signed to the Practice Squad by the contract assignment deadline for the respective year to retain Practice Squad eligibility. Players may not be traded from one teams Practice Squad to another team?s. Players are only eligible for the Practice Squad of the team that drafted them. However, a traded PS player is still TS eligible. |

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
2 teams left to vote, only 1 option is within range of passing and that's the 5 player TS and 5 player PS. Just 1 vote (or change to that option) will put that one over the top.
We can then do a runoff on specifics for trades and/or waivers. |
Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Llamas and Freedom have yet to vote.

Re: POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
Sorry I thought I had voted on all of the polls around this.

Re: 5TS/5PS PASSES with 7 Votes - POLL: TS/PS slot adjustment (revision # 2)
All teams have voted. The 5 player TS/ 5 player PS (with any 3rd/4th rounder eligible for the PS) is the only option with the majority of votes to pass.
As it stands this rule will implement NEXT season unless another vote is unanimous to implement this year. We should also do an additional vote to clarify whether the any 3rd/4ths for the PS can only be your own draftees or acquired via trade and/or waivers while on their rookie contract. |
Re: PASSES with 7 Votes - TS/PS allotment: 5 TS/5 PS (any 3rd or 4th rounder PS eligi
Quick question, can I place 3 players on the PS from my 2020 draft class if all were from the 3rd or 4th round? I think I am reading that it can be done but I wanted to make sure as I start to set-up my 2020 declarations. Thanks.
