Shoot I didn't realize Baltimore had a game tonight, thus Pitta can't be cut till Tuesday.

I don't understand. The section in the rules about releasing players does not cover this. I thought this only came into play when players were used in the Thursday game.

Once a players game starts, he's frozen whether he's a FA or on a roster.

Once a players weekly game has kicked off their active roster status is locked until the start of the next week. They can't be dropped as that would give teams an unfair advantage of seeing a players production for the week and then possibly dropping said player to pickup another. It's usually not an issue with the exception of the early week games, Thursday in particular, as teams could watch a player on Thursday night, then subsequently cut them if they underperform or get injured during the game and pickup another player they could start that same week, in essense giving them an extra player for the week.
