PASSES 10-2 EXTEND TRADE DEADLINE UNTIL MIDNIGHT week 13
 

Until I saw Burt's Leveon Bell post I thought the deadline was midnight, as did other teams. Rules apparently say noon.

At least 1 deal was agreed upon after this before realizing the rules state otherwise. Vote now and if unanimous we can extend the deadline until midnight.

I'd also suggest moving the deadline back a week to week 13 now that we've extended the season to 14 weeks. Traditionally our deadline has been the week prior to the final regular season week. With our season now 14 weeks that should be week 13 not 12.

MUST BE UNANIMOUS TO PASS FOR THIS SEASON, if not unanimous the rule can still pass for next season with a majority vote.

I think week 13 seems a reasonable change.

Moving to week 13 also moves us away from the Thanksgiving holiday as well which IMO is another plus now that the season is 14 weeks.

Deadline has always been noon so the 24 hour review period completes before Thursday games. There's been plenty of time to work out trades. I'm up for discussion next year, but not this. Sorry.

Also the noon deadline is silly for Thursday games that involve 2 teams. The deadline can still be midnight, the 24 hour rule would just mean players involved in games before midnight on Thursday would be ineligible to play that week if the deal was consummated after the start of their game.

Although Pat has chosen a dissenting vote, just 1 more vote is required for this to pass for future seasons. And if it's 11-1 who knows, maybe Pat will reconsider (doubt it, but hey, it is a happy time of year)!

This rule change is passed for 2017 and beyond. Though we still need votes from:

Killer Bees
Freedom
Scorpions
Cards

If it's 11-1 after everyone's voted, Pat said it's a possibility he might consider his dissenting vote to make it unanimous and effective this year and extending the deadline to next week Wednesday at midnight, 1 week prior to our final week of regular season games, which is how we've always had the deadline for all 15 years of the Frenzy.

If I understand correctly, rule changes can be voted on for next year unless unanimous, then they take effect immediately?

It's kind of frustrating to see an emergency vote for this, but the Montgomery issue was just changed without a vote. The rules clearly state the teams depth chart. If that was to be changed we should have done the same thing as this vote and would have likely not been unanimous either way and would have been changed next year

That being said, I'm indifferent about this.

One suggestion when writing this into the rules for next season:

Instead of stating it as "Week 13," we should state it as "Wednesday at midnight, 1 week prior to the final week of regular season games." This way if we ever switch back to a 16 week season including playoffs, then we won't need to adjust it back to a specific week.

I agree. Good point as that is the intent of the rule change and solves it permanently.
