Recent Rule Changes not yet published in rule book
 

Just wanted to post this here, not only for my benefit when I get to updating the rule book, but also for yours, to note things that are not in there yet ;-)

1) Teams will be allowed to add as many 5th and 6th round draft picks to our Practice Squad as we have room for each year. This would only lift the 2 players added per year limit, NOT an increase to the 6 player limit on the PS

2) Prevent players from being franchised in consecutive years (one year limit)

3) Franchise calculations are now based on the top 5 players under contract at the end of the previous season.

4) With the NFL having moved the draft and schedule announcements back in recent years, SACD alter timelines a bit.

1 - Make the Official roll-over to the new season May 1st, instead of April 1st.

2 - Push back the RFA period to start May 1 and end May 31 with declarations due by April 23,

3 - Push back the rookie draft to start June 1st each year.

4 - Push back the start of UFA to the 1st Monday after the Rookie Draft is complete.

These changes will allow time for the NFL to release schedules and byes and for the league and owners to plan accordingly BEFORE declaring RFA's. The push back will also allow teams additional time to evaluate rookies before drafting.

5) release RFA tender from team's salary cap once initial bid is placed

6) reduce the RFA 1st compensation from 24pts to 18pts

7) Change the current salary increase for Taxi Squad Demotions from the current 75cb to 5cb.

What is the 2018 season date that 4th year taxi squad players get automatically promoted to active? I am asking because my DL DFowler addition to my 2017 squad would put me over in years and/or cb's but room on 2018 squad...Trying to head off any penalties.

That happens when salaries roll over on May 1st - so all 1 year players drop off, salaries increase, and any 4th year player on your TS that was not cut becomes active...so if you have room with 2018 rollover, you are good
