Danny Dimes can't be demoted to PS. Once promoted to AS, an eligible player can only be demoted to the TS. Currently, you don't have room on your TS so this move cannot be made and is invalid.

This is true. So you'll need to make room off the TS if you want to demote him.

Yikes, I forgot about that rule... Grrrrrr.


Well I guess I will leave him up for now, but we will need to adjust his salary back to 100 since he wasn't officially placed back onto the TS/PS.


If anyone has time, I'd love to hear a small explanation why we made it like this for the PS???

The reasoning is simple. The PRACTICE SQUAD a great "waiting room" for young unproven players to be able to grow without having any cap/salary ramifications. But once you take a player off this, you have to offer them a "legit" contract. They're no longer eligible to go back to the PS (otherwise it's just like having a bigger taxi squad). It's seriously only for keeping players until they pan out... whereas the TAXI SQUAD is a place where you can move players in and out of ACTIVE status. You still have to incur a salary adjustment if you move someone back down, but it's set up to be very different from the practice squad. Hope that helps.

Originally we only had the TS. After a few years we realized only top picks were being kept on the TS and later picks would rarely get tendered contracts, so we added the PS as a place to allow later picks to develop, but placed restrictions on it, if a PS player was promoted to the active roster or TS, they'd lose PS eligibility and only be TS eligible during their first 3 years.

The entire idea of the PS was to be developmental, not a shuttle back and forth option like the TS. Hope that makes sense!
