Rule changes being voted on in Frenzy - discussion

We have many rule change proposals brought up in Frenzy.

I'm thinking we might want to look at some of them here in SAC'd also?

Any thoughts, or should I just propose same rule changes here and see what happens? One we have already enacted (the playoff seeding based on record alone)

Personally, I like our league and Frenzy league rules to be as close as possible, but that's is just my preference since I play in both leagues....

Propose away Burt!

My only proposal would be to move to a blind bid format for in-season waivers. Which would be unfrenzylike.

I reviewed how MFL handles that. I am not seeing where it can determine how much salary you have to bid with. I imagine it can, since MFL lets you know when you are over the cap.

One of my problems with this is, I am old and forgetful. I am in fantasy baseball league that does this - runs it twice a week...one on Thursday and one on Sunday..I am constantly forgetting the one on Sunday, thus I have to go 4 days before I can get replacement. I guess I would assume this would be something run every day.

But that would be things to consider - if MFL does not handle using your salary cap balance, how do we manage it?
Even if it does, I do not always get salaries right, so some players could be won undeservedly, thus making another team have to wait for replacement.

If MFL can handle it automatically, I think I would be all for it, as this would eliminate a lot of my work.

I see this setting, and assume that is my answer:
"Are Salary Cap Dollars And Blind Bidding Dollars Treated As One And The Same?"

I have no idea what this one means:
"Blind Bids Must Be In Increments Of"

There is also this to consider:
"Blind Bid Ties are Broken By" - waiver wire order is not listed as option.

Yes, I believe it can handle this.....easily?
Answer: Go to the Setup > Blind Bidding Waivers Setup and here you can check the box "Adjust Individual Franchise Blind Bid Balances?"
This will display the franchises where you can then apply an adjustment and explanation for the adjustment for the Current Blind Bid Balance Available for your owners. This is a one time adjustment and will appear on the Reports > Franchise Blind Bid Report

Note that this does not apply to leagues that have enabled the option "Are Salary Cap Dollars And Blind Bidding Dollars Treated As One And The Same?"

Yah, I believe that you can control that calendar quite easily. I'd think that running it on Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat or something like that might be best? As in, give a couple of days after the conclusion of the week for owners to make the initial flurry of bids.

As in, can you do .1 CB bids etc.

Sounds like you can manually set that order. If it's manually set off of WW order then problem solved-ish.

Yes, you can manually set the WW order, but the BB tie breaker does not have WW order as an option....

I'm good if we set up the PS and TS polls here too. I think we have all the others accounted for (e.g., playoff seeding, home field adv) except trade deadline which I guess we could add but am not in favor of.

If blind bid doesn't add more work to roster app, I'd consider it. If I have to go to MFL to find all transaction information, I'd be against it as I would have to check multiple locations...maybe winner posts it on boards?

There is a Transactions report Patrick. Would that work? I am sure they would add BB waivers to that list.

In another MFL league I am in, we do waiver claims, and those all get added, so I am sure these would also

If voted and approved, I'd prefer winners to post winning bid on the boards. One-stop-shop for me to update spreadsheet. I really don't want to have to go to multiple places to record transactions. Plus it would be best to have all transactions in one place for discrepancy reporting and the boards are the only place where we can track all transactions.

I don't know how my partner feels about blind waiver wire bidding, but 50% of RHP hates the idea!

Won't say I hate the idea. But I'm kinda fine keeping things the way they are. I like everyone having a chance to acquire a player at the rate they're willing to pay (and hopefully not a dime more!).

Couldn't that be solved by awarding at 5cb over 2nd highest bid?

I'd be down for that.
