I will gladly match. With Brett, there is little missed time and a chance every year that he finishes top 5. I agree he deserves a raise!

Since you would have obviously matched up to 675, why did he only get a 4th round tender?

Probably to encourage lower bidding. Had he tendered Farve at 800, I still would have bid on him, and in the end Jake would've paid more. Not a bad play on Jake's part.

Yeah, I wanted to encourage lower bidding - but I also concluded that a 4th round tender is much more valuable than a 3rd round tender with the formation of the new practice squad. The chances of a player drafted at the end of the 3rd round making my team are basically zero. By tendering Favre a 4th, if I were to have let him go I would have ended up with 2 4th round picks this year and an opportunity to draft and evaluate 2 players for the right to join my practice squad.
