Hey, on this one, if we had guys in there from the week before, do they fall under the "if you didn't submit a lineup, the previous weeks' lineup is used?" Or can you just not use them.

IMO, not started before the Thursday game = not in you lineup, regardless of failing to submit a lineup or not.

Too easy to try and skate by otherwise.

BTW, the rules appear to support my opinion...

The deadline for naming starters is at the start on the first game of the week (with the exception of Thursday and Saturday games... for those weeks, only players involved in the early game(s) need to be declared starting, you can change the rest of your lineup up until the 1st game on Sunday).
Allowing teams to skip submitting a lineup as a loophole to to getting around the requirement of having to declare starters prior to a Thursday/Friday?Saturday game is a bad thing IMO.

Early games have always required declaration in advance of intent to start.

Too late to change last week's games, but I agree with Preds on this. Would should make change for next year (or we can have the other Rules Committee Members chime in and see if they want to change it 'from here on out'

Since it was not specifically written as such, we cannot go back to last week and penalize. IMO

FYI - this didn't affect last weeks games.

everyone had submitted a lineup before the thursday games and then if any modifications came after i manually made sure that no one tried to start a thursday player (or remove a thursday player from playing.

I think it's already clear, the rule specifically states you must declare them starting for early games.

The failed lineup penalty is secondary in this case IMO. Failed to declare starting prior to the early games and subsuquently failing to submit a lineup should result in 0 points at any involved positions for that week.

I have no idea if this was a hypothetical or in response to an actual ommission last week, but in any case I think the Must Declare Starting rule is very clear, and if that wasn't done whoever failed to submit a lineup that week (if it even occured) should not get points from any positions involved.

Ok, I just hope it doesn't affect my playoff hopes...
