Well I cut him because I felt he was vastly overpaid for a fringe TE in a murky TE situation. Cooley was out much of last season and is expected back this year (albeit amid reports that he feels slower). Yeah I know Davis's numbers look decent (though he also missed 4 weeks), and yes the WR situation is questionable, and there is a rookie QB who may lean on TE's, but none of that adds up to the salary he'd been bid up to IMO. Davis comes with significant risk IMO. 2-300 cb's sure, but 666? Really?
I'll take my aging Gates for only 100cbs more than Davis every day of the week.
