2014 Preds prepared to defend 2013 title
The 2014 Parkwood Predators are shaping into form and feel very good about the lineup they'll be fielding in 2014 as they prepare to defend their 3rd Frenzy Championship.
Barring injuries, the Preds will be fielding elite players at every skill position in the lineup, highlighted by an exceptional WR group consisting of 4 top 12 WR's from the 2013 season and a WR5 (Sanders) who ranked 32nd in 2013 and is WR3 material on every other team in the league, especially now that he's in Denver with Peyton Manning throwing him the rock.
The 2014 Preds will likely showcase their WR depth by featuring a 4WR set most weeks.
Likely starters for the Preds (with 2013 positional rankings)
QB Matthew Stafford (4th)
RB Eddie Lacy (6th)
WR Antonio Brown (5th)
WR Brandon Marshall (6th)
WR Andre Johnson (11th)
WR Pierre Garcon (12th)
TE Jason Witten (6th)
K TBD
D TBD
And while they have an impressive starting core, don't discount their backups. The Preds have quality there as well with:
QB Alex Smith (15th)
RB Fred Jackson (12th)
RB Frank Gore (14th)
RB Joique Bell (17th)
RB Shane Vereen (44th)
WR Emmanuel Sanders (32nd)
Much of the off-season is yet to play out, let alone the real games in September, but the Preds have already laid down the gauntlet and are ready to take on all-comers as they will attempt to be the 1st Frenzy repeat Champion since the Opihi in 2006/2007.
