After careful consideration, the Preds have deeply studied their cap in an effort to see if it's possible in any way to make the numbers work so that we could retain Amari as part of our elite corps of WRs. We would absolutely love to roll out 4 elite WR's each week with 3 WR1 caliber receivers in Thomas, Evans and Cooper, and the 4th being one of Marvin Jones, Will Fuller and AJ Brown, each of whom are starting caliber WR2s and a luxury at WRs 4-6.
That said, if we were to retain Amari, managing the cap would be a daunting challenge, particularly since we would be devoting over 68% of our cap to the WR and be rolling into UFA with a meager 474 in available cap space.
We feel being aggressive in having an elite starting lineup is necessary to win in this league. Cap be damned, we'll make it work.
