Poll RFA Bidding Period

I would like to propose a rule change for the RFA period. Currently, the RFA period is May 1 to May31 each year, with the Rookie Draft starting immediately after on June 1.

I would like to propose changing the RFA period to May1 12:00 am to May25 11:59 pm, with no change to the start of the Rookie Draft.

The reason for this change would be to allow the RFA bidding and Decline/Match intentions to be completed before the draft begins.

Currently, bidding on an RFA player can be started one day before the Rookie Draft begins. This has created a scenario where not all comp draft picks are known before the rookie draft.
This occurred last season in Frenzy and I see that it happened in SAC’s this season.
Even though consideration is taken to stop the draft before the possible comp pick, not knowing if a comp pick is available could prevent using that (pending) comp pic for a trade.

As seen over the past couple of seasons that I have been in the league, the majority of the RFA bidding is completed before the 25th of the month, with the exception of a few stragglers.

Having the cutoff as May 25 should not really impact the RFA process. Those last minute bidding wars will just happen a few days earlier and have less of a chance of impacting the draft.

With the understanding that this will not prevent the RFA bidding from encroaching on the draft, it will help alleviate the possibility.
