I've been in a few IDP (Individual Defensive Players) leagues, and they add a whole new dimension to FF. Basically, you sign and play DL's, LB's and DB's much like you would RB's and WR's.

I think it would be neat to take the Frenzy to the next level by eliminating team defenses and drafting an IDP stratagy. Obviously the cap would have to be raised to accomodate larger rosters, we'd need to develop a scoring system, and we'd have to decide how many IDP poistions to start (I'd advocate a full D of 11 players with 4 DL's, 3 LB's, and 4 DB's), and maybe add a spot or 2 to the Tax Squad for development of IDP's as well.

This would make the rookie draft far more interesting since a lot of the reaches on offense in the later rounds won't be necessary with the extra depth of defensive talent each year. It will also greatly enhance the ability to trade and manage a roster.

I'm thinking we could bump the cap to 20,000 and add an additional 18 roster spots (11 starters and 7 backups) for a total of 36. We could require that no more than 18 roster spots are used by either offense or defense as well to keep teams from stacking up.

Anyhow, just throwing this out there for discussion. It would need a lot of fine tuning, but at the moment I do not believe anyone has a D under contract for 2006 nor have any 2006 picks been traded yet.

So what do the Frenzy masses have to say on this?
