Preds is on a distinguished road
Bears 4.02 QB Kyle Orton, Chicago

inline imageAre you sold on Grossman being the QB of the future in Chicago? I'm not. Orton was a potential #1 overall going into the 2004 college season, he started off well but struggled late which killed his stock and caused him to slide to the early 4th round. He may get a shot as a starter sooner than some might expect in Chicago. They seem pretty high on him, plus he's a local boy coming from Purdue and all. I don't expect an immediate return on him, but 3 years from now, he might be a great value in the Frenzy.

QB is really the perfect position for the Practice Squad, as they often take 3 years or so to develop.

Orton completes what we feel is a stellar 2005 draft class for the Predators. The Preds have drafted help at every position (1 QB, 3 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 1 K), and will have room to accomodate all 7 drafted players in one way or another to allow them to grow into future stars.

Predators 2005 Draft Class
:Bears QB Kyle Orton - 4.02
:Buccaneer RB Cadillac Williams - 1.01
:Jaguars RB Alvin Pearman - 2.12
:Giants RB Brandon Jacobs - 3.01
:Ravens WR Mark Clayton - 1.11
:Steelers TE Heath Miller - 1.17
:Jets K Mike Nugent - 2.02
