I'd have to check on this, but I don't believe they saw it this way. I think it was more of a political/economic thing. Although there were some Christians that had slaves, even in the deep south it was spoken against.

The Bible is not "anti-gay," although, maybe you were just cutting a corner. You have to start thinking more along the lines of
why it says certain things are wrong vs. right. It's not just arbitrary. It points to something, or, better yet, someone.
