I checked out a few bible translations of Exodus 20, it would seem that older versions (Original King James) generally have "Thou shalt not kill" and newer versions (American Standard, New English etc) have "Thou shalt not muder".
Sounds like creeping relativism to me. I think most people would accept that there is a substantive moral difference between the two statements.
