What "benefit" is gained by this idiotic rule? I can see none.

With only 4 teams making the playoffs there is no question of an undeserving team getting there. And frankly, if you think that is the case, then maybe you want to just have the top 2 teams make the playoffs because the other two are "undeserving" to be there.

I just cannot comprehend how someone logically came to the conclusion that this was a good idea?

Someone help me out here.
