First games are a great memory. I grew up in the Bay Area...still remember my first trip to the Stick...Mays in center, McCovey at first, Bobby Bonds in right, Marichal on the mound...against the hated Dodgers!! I think Drysdale was pitching....hot dog wrappers stuck to the cyclone fence in the outfield...dirt devils swirling around home plate..colder than crud in mid afternoon...Mays hit one out so far I thought it was going to land in the Bay...Bonds caught one up against the fence....Stretch towering over Wills at first before Marichal picked him off....sweet....
