This rule has to stay in place in order to prevent late year salary dumps.The problem is however... we haven't really determines when trading could/should begin after the deadline and what year it accounts for.

I'm ok with keep it split between 2007/2008 b/c any team right now can cut players as save half of the cap hit. A little loop hole... sure, but one that everyone has been usin for years to save cap. Just like how NFL teams have certain dates before they have to award bonuses and such... the period before the OFFICIAL start of FA is our little cap saving date.
