However, Ward was on IR when Bradshaw was doing his thing, so Ward might in fact be the handcuff - I don't think that will be decided until training camp. I obviously like the deal form my side, but like Mike pointed out it's close. The main thing is I already have picks 1.1 and 1.3 and a loaded TS so the and teh 1.6 is usually projected to be a bit of a project (although I did grab Portis 1 year)... so I focused on getting most talent out of 1.6 that I could get.
MJD for Jacobs/Ward is a push IMO... MJD is a better talent, has a longer contract, but will cost 2x more than Jacobs by himself and about the same as Jacobs and Ward together. Jacobs actually performed better last year than MJD in ppg (19 vs 15) and Derrick Ward was a beast when Jacobs was out. Ward also has a 3 year deal @ around 600, but is only signed with the Giants for 1 year... so he has some potential value down the line.
Boldin is an upgrade long-term over Driver, Meachum is a throw in, and Winslow only has 1 year left (and he already has Gates on roster).
Right now, who knows what the 1.6 will be worth.... we'll get a better gauge after the NFL draft.
Overall I think it's a deal that both teams like.
BTW Ahmad Bradshaw is on the block!!
