3. Teams are expected to responsibly manage their own salary obligations. Total bids that exceed the 20,000 CB's salary cap will be permitted, as it is not likely that all bids will be winners. However, if a team should have winning bids that exceed the salary cap, punitive action will be taken. If a team makes an acquisition (trade or free agent signing) which places them over the salary cap, they must release appropriate personnel to meet the cap restriction within 24 hours or roster penalties will be assessed.
