Default Tackled for a Loss: RFA Highlights

Dateline: 4/5/02
by Linus Scrimmage

For the first time in the RFA era, a player has signed a contract. Garrison Hearst of the Devil Hounds has accepted the Rager’s offer of $1,300. The Hounds now have 72 hours to match the offer that has been extended. More on this as it develops.

Including Hearst there have been 19 players bid upon. The total amount of money bid is $27,680. It is interesting to note that since the first day and a half of bidding we have only seen total expenditures increase by $6,480. This would seem to indicate that most teams are now incrementally bidding up players and most have probably come fairly close to reaching their final value.

This leads to some questions and our first interactive Tackled for a Loss. Who are the most overvalued and undervalued RFA’s in your opinion and why? Please feel free to respond in this thread.

Editor’s Note: Linus was going to be doing a full RFA piece, but with only one signing he thought it would be more interesting to get your thoughts. Please note the majority of the next 4 columns will be related to the upcoming NFL Draft.
