Unfortunately, not much of a shock. Of course what's different here is the magnitude of the consequences. These lies are to justify a war of aggression that will kill thousands of people. And that's just in the short term.
We're lucky enough to live in a free society where we can actually, to some degree, hold our leaders accountable for their words and actions. I just think it will be really important, when this is all over, to remember what those words were at the beginning.
