WRONG.

A player with less than one year remaining on his contract can only have his contract renegotiated if he is traded to another team.Once traded, the contract can be renegotiated with a raise of 5% or 150cb to the current year salary, whichever is greater. The contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years.

This specifically states the 150/5% is applicable if TWO conditions are met.... 1 year deal AND traded to another team. No other scenario is mentioned.
Otherwise traded or not if they have more than 1 year left they get 300/10%.

Players with more than one year remaining on their contract can have their contracts renegotiated by the team holding their rights. When a contract is renegotiated, the current years salary gets a 10% or 300cb raise, whichever is greater, and the contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years.

There is nothing that says traded players with more than 1 year only get 150/5% renegotiation. I don't see any mention of a traded player only gets 150/5%? It only states that players with more than 1 year can be reneged for 300/10%. Nothing more and nothing less.
It specifically states the circumstances where the 150/5% is applicable and that is 1 yr AND acquired via trade.... NO OTHER scenario is outline for that.
