Re: Promote QB Andy dalton, CIN - 230/5yrs to active
Pat,
Thank you for staying on top of this. Each owner is mandated to keep track of his own roster, cap years, salary, etc... even when we haven't updated the "official" roster app or the website. Once our "capologist" gets around to checking things out (like we have here), penalties & roster adjustments need to happen.
In this case, the FIRST violation came with the Dalton promotion on 11/15. However, there clearly was not room for him on your active roster. So we'll have to declare that move invalid. He's still on your TS. If he started for you this past weekend, his score will be zeroed out & the team score recalculated.
Then came the Jags D addition on 11/19. There still wasn't room on your roster for another entity. Because the 24-hour window has passed, they must be dropped and roster penalties apply.
Now, here's where things get sticky. Do I impose penalties on both players or just one, since this is the first time it's officially coming to your attention? I'm going to rule the latter. There will be no penalties for the promotion of Dalton. He's not on your active roster. You will forfeit whatever points he earned for you. If you'd like to move him into the active roster, you will need to clear space. I will impose the standard "first offense" penalties for the Jags' D. If they were active this past weekend, those points will be forfeited as well.
Any further roster violations will be treated as a second offense from here on out.
Does that seem appropriate?
