So to be clear...my bid on Knox was with the intent to sign him to a multiclear contract if I was final bidder. Trying to halt my 4 game losing streak by not standing pat was my motivation. Keeping him away from anyone else was a result of that.
Our latest discussion about assigned year ability with FA's picked up at this time is unexpected to me. I'm gathering that the winner of the Knox bidding will be restricted to a 1 year contract with no RFA rights for him.
