2014 NFL Rookie Draft

Why are they torturing us by holding the NFL Draft in May this year? Don't they realize the joy that the Rookie Draft gives to us geeks? Don't they realize that our internal FF alarm clocks have been going off all weekend...we keep hitting the snooze button, but we still reawaken to no draft? I mean our RFA bidding is slowing down like it should at this time of year....and we still have two weeks to go!!!

I feel the same way. Seems way too late.

However, in the fantasy world, I feel the number of impact players in this draft are pretty limited. I could be wrong...I have been many times, but I don't see a lot of these guys develop into being top 10 at their position. Just my opinion, probably not others'...

So what do you want for your 1st rounder?

Never mind, Mashers traded his 1st rounder to Clowns. That might be the reason he thinks there are no top 10 players in the draft.

The Bills are rumored by many to be trying to move up to 1 or 2 (from 9) for Clowney.

Personally I'd rather see them move up in the 3-5 range to snag Watkins.

Cleveland is most likely looking to take Watkins at #4..so they would have to move to #1-3 is my guess..

It's like Christmas morning! Just woke up here in Hawaii. Going to work straight until 2pm HST (8pm EST), and then come home for a 3-hour "lunch" time! Can't wait!

I wonder who the Hawaii professional team will be drafting!?!? (Oh wait, we don't have a team...)

Heck no. We can't even keep the Pro Bowl here!

But 30 or so years ago, we had a minor league baseball team: The Hawaii Islanders.

Clowney would be fun but I think you'd have to get to #1 and pay a king's ransom to get there. But if you identify him as a 15 sack per year guy, then go for it.

It's going to kill the fan base in MN when they pass on Manziel at #8 for a defensive player. If they stay at #8, it sounds like Donald or Gilbert. If they move back, it could be Barr.

MN will pass on a QB at 8 because of Ponder.

I think financially it's cost prohibitive. We're not London, you know!
Actually, there are a TON of fans here. I'm sure we'd fill a stadium if it was an option.

I think flying time alone would crush any ideas of such a move. Hell, I think it took us 8 hours to fly from SF to Hawaii...can you imagine East Coast teams flight time...a 2 day trip most likely

SFO-HNL is a 5 to 5 1/2 hour flight depending on which direction you're going.

Now coming from the East Coast, it's about 10 - 10 1/2 hours.

If they played in the NFC West... Seattle, SF, & AZ wouldn't be too bad. St. Louis would be probably closer to 7-8 hours. There's a non-stop flight from Newark to the islands... a brutal 11 hour jaunt. Ugh.

Good for the Bills for making a bold move.

Better yet, 2 of the Preds QBs have gained significant weapons with EJ Manuel gaining Sammy Watkins and Matthew Stafford gaining Eric Ebron. Good times and the draft is only 10 picks old!

Not sure Ebron will help Stafford. Might as well put some misinformation out like NFL teams do to make a prospect fall. That's a crowded TE situation in Det

Haha, love it. Same with Watkins...might get stuck sharing time with Mike Williams and Robert Woods. Is there enough to go around?

not sure what Seahawks were thinking...taking Richardson over Latimere? I would have thoought they would have gone for the big WR, since they already have small speedsters like Harvin and Baldwin. Hell, even taking Tuitt or Jernigan made more sense for them.

Oh well, I can't argue with Seattle's success in the draft, so we shall see.

Pretty sure the pecking order is going to be Watkins, Woods with the majority of opportunities. Mike Williams will be on the outside where his height will give an advantage in the redzone and 3rd downs.

The Bills brass is hugely enamored with Watkins. He will be given every opportunity to be a featured WR.

I'd stop worrying about weather, It never hurt HOF'ers Andre Reed or James Lofton. Nor Stevie Johnson and his 3 straight 1000 yard seasons.

EJ is the wild card. He's been given all the tools, has no excuses. Has to prove he can be the guy this year or the Bills will turn to UFA or the trade market to replace him in 2015.
