Rookie Squad penalties
So we have three teams who made mistakes on their rookie squads, and need to be penalized. We have put up votes twice now to decide what the penalties should be, but neither vote garnered enough to pass.
My feeling is we should let the team that is in violation, decide which current year rookie pick they will lose, not just make it a blanket 'last pick' default. Any thoughts? We need to decide soon. I'll let this thread ride this week, then if enough interest, we will put it up for vote. If not, I'll just make an executive decision.

Re: Rookie Squad penalties
I think it has to be the last guy.... otherwise it is an advantage for making the mistake.
While there is some cb's penalty the ability to carry an extra rookie while injuries happen, cuts are made and depth charts are revised and THEN decide which rookie to cut seems to give the offender an advantage over those who followed the rules.

Re: Rookie Squad penalties
I would vote that it should be the lowest draft pick(s) released until the taxi/practice squad is in compliance.

Agreed. Last guy taken is guy released.

Re: Rookie Squad penalties
Do you mean the last 'eligible' pick? For instance if the mistake was in the Rookie Taxi squad then it doesn't seem quite right to just drop the 6th round guy who would've gone on the Practice Squad, but in that instance maybe it should be the last 4th round guy: The last rookie taken who had to go on the Taxi Squad and not the Practice Squad.
Not sure if I explained myself correctly there.. confusing?

Re: Rookie Squad penalties
Hans, that was what I was thinking. If the TS is the one in violation then the lowest pick placed on the TS would be released. The players placed on the PS would not be affected.

Re: Rookie Squad penalties
If an owners Taxi Squad is in violation after yearly Declarations are made, owner will lose last current year rookie pick made that was assigned to TS
If owners Practice Squad is in violation after yearly Declarations are made, owner will lose last current year rookie pick made that was assigned to PS Sounds fair, and everyone seems to be in agreement. I'll post which player will be cut on each persons declaration thread...
