4.14 RB Larry Rountree III, LAC

The Royal Hawaiian Predators proudly welcome Larry "No D" Rountree III to the team! This 6th round draft pick by the LAChargers will be competing for the #2 RB spot in LaLaLand behind Austin Eckeler. This downhill, hard-nosed runner finished in the top 5 for SEC RB's 2 of the last 3 years. He's solid in pass protection, has good vision, and can catch the ball when he needs to. But we think the Chargers picked him to get the tough 3rd down yards, and to be a goalline bruiser - something they've been missing.

"But the backfield is so crowded in Chargerland," you say?
Maybe. There's Justin "Is this the week I'm injured" Jackson... a dynamic runner WHEN HEALTHY... he just can't seem to stay on the field. There's Joshua Kelley, the 2020 pick out of UCLA... who started strong last year when Eckeler went down, only to lose confidence (and his starting job) as the year went on. Rumors among Chargers message boards is that Kelley may well be a cut casualty this year.

Which leaves our man, Rountree. We believe he has the vision & durability to become the backup in LAC as soon as this year... and could move into the top spot if the Chargers let Eckler walk after 2023.
