Nittany Dodgers is on a distinguished road
Default Week 5 Notes from Sam Istician

***Note*** Sam may be forced to take a brieg hiatus. Between increased work duties this month, and the possibility of entering the new house market, Sam's free time is going to be limited in the near future.

Week 5 Notes

The Indiana Undead have started 4-1 for the second straight year. Marvin Harrison’s 35.1 points was the 4th highest wide receiver score in team history. Rian Lindell’s 10.8 points tied the 7th highest kicker score in Undead history. The Undead beat the Wonder Mutts for the first time ever. In doing so, the Undead join the Nittany Dodgers as the only teams to have defeated every other team in the league at least once.

The Predators have tied their worst records after five week at 3-2, done in 2002 as well. The Predators have lost two games in a row for only the second time in team history (also done in 2002, weeks 2-3). Their 89.65 points was the Predators’ 4th lowest score ever, and lowest since their franchise worst 59.3 points in week 8 of 2001. Jeff Garcia’s 31.7 points was the 8th highest QB score in team history. Garcia also repassed Rich Gannon to regain the #1 spot all time among Frenzy QBs. Jeff has 725.65 points in 31 games for a 23.41 average.

The Philadelpahi Freedom tied their worst start at 1-4, done also in 2001. Deuce McAllister’s 26.05 points was the 9th highest RB score in team history. Jeremy Shockey’s 16.5 points was the second highest tight end score in team history, second only to Chad Lewis’ 18.3 points week 3 of 2001. Dallas’ 17 points on defense was the second highest defensive score for the Freedom, behind only Pittsburgh’s 21, also week 3 of 2001.

Travis Henry’s 29.15 points was the 8th best game by a running back in Royal Hawaiin Opihi history. David Akers’ 11.8 points was the 8th highest score for a kicker in team history.

The Soap Box Derby Car franchise is off to its worst start ever at 1-4. Their 122.5 points was the 8th highest score in franchise history. Peyton Manning’s 32.05 points was the 4th highest QB total in team history. Stephen Davis’ 29.2 points was the 8th highest running back total in franchise history. The Philadelphia Defense has passed the St. Louis defense to become the all time leader for the Derby Cars. The Philly D has 119 points in 14 games, for a 8.5 average for the Derby Cars.

The Liquid Swords have tied their best start in franchise history at 2-3. Ahman Green’s 31.75 points was the 5th best game by a running back in franchise history. Josh Brown’s 9.8 points was the 7th highest kicker score in franchise history.

The Jersey Toxic Waste are off to their best start ever at 3-2. William Green’s 20.75 points was the 10th best score by a Toxic Waste running back. The Waste defeat the Parkwood Predators for the first time ever.

The Wonder Mutts are off to their worst start ever at 1-4. Michael Rick’s 15.6 points was the highest tight end score ever for the Mutts, breaking Ricks’ previous team record of 15.4 set week 6 of 2002.

The Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects have tied their best start ever at 3-2. The Insects’ 142.9 points was the 3rd highest in team history. Steve McNair’s 40.4 points was the highest ever for an Insect QB, breaking McNair’s previous team record of 39.65 set week 13 of 2002. It was also the 10th highest QB score in league history. Clinton Portis’ 36.25 points was the 3rd highest RB score in team history.

The Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers are off to their best start ever at 4-1. Their 151 points was the 4th highest total in team history. David Boston’s 37.65 points was the 3rd highest WR total in team history, and 7th highest in league history.

The Nittany Dodgers are having their worst start ever at 0-5. This is also their franchise worst losing streak. Tony Gonzalez’ 12.1 points was the 4th best tight end game in team history. Sebastian Janikowski’s 18.9 points is a new team record, breaking Janikowski’s previous team record of 16.4 set week 13 of 2002. It was also the 4th highest kicker score in league history.

Urza’s Ragers are 5-0 for the first time. The Ragers won only 5 games in each of 2001 and 2002, so they are already assured of tying their best record ever. They also extend their franchise best winning streak to 5 games. Their 146.2 points was their 2nd highest score ever. Drew Brees’ 32.8 points was the 4th highest QB score in team history, and highest by anyone not named Michael Vick. Fred Taylor’s 36.65 points was the second highest RB score in team history. The Ragers defeat the Royal Hawaiin Opihi for the first time ever.

The West Division, with 3 wins this week, pass the Eastern Division to become the winningest division in the Frenzy. The four teams in the west have a combined 72-60 record (the East are 71-61, and the Midwest 55-77).
