I expect Seattle to cut him, but think he'll land on his feet as a starter somewhere.

1600 is a great price IMO.

Well the Seahags cut Shaun today, which was expected, though it came earlier than I thought. I was thinking he'd be a June 1st cut.

I'm curious to see where he ends up. The early release before the draft could make for some interesting destinations, certainly better options than had they waited till June 1st.

Or he might retire...

He said he has no plans to retire.

For 1600 I'm more than willing to take the risk as to where he ends up.

For 1600 I'd want a starting running back, but thats just me. I mean hey, if you like old, over paid, washed up, injury prone, lack of motivation type running backs with no team - then good for you.

I think Alexander still has it in him to be a starting running back. Trust me, you'll never find a bigger Alexander fan than me. I've been a huge fan since his freshman year in college.

But there aren't alot of open jobs out there right now, and there are a ton of rookies in the draft.

Shaun might find it difficult to find a job. He needs to wait until after the draft and go wherever there is an opening.

You better change your expectations, if you think 1600 will net you a starting RB in this league via FA.

No, I think 1600 is too much to spend on a NON starting RB. Whether or not it is enought o get me a starter is irrelevant.

1600 is 1600 and if its on a non starter it is wasted no matter how much a RB costs in FA.

Flax is right. Unless you're willing to go prospecting on a team's #3 RB in the hopes that he ends up starting at some time, 1600 is as low as you will get for a guy with any real chance of playing somewhere. Is it a gamble? Of course, but unless you're willing to be a bottom feeder for a year or two to secure a top 2-3 pick, that's your best bet at getting a productive RB at a reasonable cost short of rolling the dice on a middle round draft pick that Mel Kiper and Co think is a reach for the team that drafted him in the 4th round.

My guess is a team like Chicago will take a chance on him to match with their current underachieving RB and use that as justification for drafting an O-lineman instead of using a high pick on a real RB.

Hey just trying to help you out man. If you stick with rigid price ranges, you're gonna be SOL. 1600 is chump change when you consider you're getting a possible RB3/RB2 in a league where the salary cap is 20,000.

As you have seen in the off-season... a "scrub" like Jamal Lewis went for 3500, Portis went for 5000, and LT 6500. Then on the lower end you had Thomas Jones and Rudi Johnson going for 2500. If I didn't have 6 RBs (Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, B. Jacobs, M. Turner, Ernest Graham, and Rookie pick 1.2) I'd be all over Alexander and Fargas.

I guess with guys like Ryan Grant on the waiver wire every year, it just seems high to me.

Plus, I was trash talking a bit too. lol
