Hmm, that was an unintentional grammar attack. Yet looking closer, it appeared warranted.

Wow, I haven't been to the FBG boards for months. Smoo is a name I have not heard in a long time....a long time.

I thought the consensus was that RB prices were going to fall? So much for that theory.

Yes, the 6-man game of musical-stud-RBs is getting expensive.

Well, then the RFA tenders are too low. Seven RFAs have been sold and the match has been determined. Of those seven, 3 1st round compensatory picks have been handed out. That's not a good way to start things with so many more RFAs to be bid on. Potentially, three more (or more, I've lost track) could be handed out. That would be yucky.

1 year is not a trend.

I would hate to make a correction for something that is not broken.

True, I'm not saying we change for next year, but if next year is a repeat, then I would advocate adjusting the numbers.

I have a feeling once more teams get some low priced draft picks in the fold, prices will start to get more affordable...other than LT and SA types....

All players acquired through RFA, the rookie draft, and over the summer don't need years assigned until the start of the season UNLESS they are traded, at which point years need to be assigned prior to the trade.

I thought RFA's couldn't be traded until Aug 31?

I meant I was refering to rookies and UFA when I mentioned "UNLESS they are traded." Obviously (or, it should be obvious) since RFAs cannot be traded, that part of my statement does not apply.

Man, after jacking all the RFA amounts up I was hoping to avoid all these compensatory picks. I really think we ought to consider some fee for the team that gets the player (ie you sign a first round tender guy and it costs you a third round pick). I am not saying an eye for an eye but otherwise we end up with like an extra rounds worth of compensatory picks.

This is not a huge issue for third or fourth round compensatory picks but the first rounders kill the value of second round picks. I think this is something that we should consider adding for next offseason.

My take, I think the RB tenders need to be bumped to 4000 for a 1st, the tenders for rounds 2-6 are fine.

If the RB tender was 4000 for a 1st I never woulda tendered a 1st for McGahee, though as it was I felt I was really gambling at 3200.

I'd also be in favor of eliminating a 1st round tender level for all IDP's, Ray Lewis, as good as he once was, doesn't warrant a 1st round comp IMO.

Lets just fix some of the 1st round tenders, specifiacally RB by making it an extremely difficult decision to tender a 1st, unless you've got a LT or Alexander type.
