We love Marques! We took a chance on him during week one of his rookie season. He's been a solid & consistent producer, and is clearly worth this contract price. However, the management in Hawaii are going to have to respectfully DECLINE to match this offer, due to financial constraints for the rest of the team. We wish him all of the best with his new team, the Valley Avengers. He was an integral part of our back-to-back championships run. He will be missed.

Don't push this on me, I wouldn't touch Colston for that price - too inconsistent last year. In any event - congrats to Amish on finally landing a top WR.

Mea culpa! I was looking at the Cooley "bidding war" at the same time and I got my teams mixed up.

It was a high price, but the Amish are trying to go younger this year and hoping for retainable RFA's next yera with time on their side. I agree totally that Colston was inconsistent last year, but he put up top 8 WR production with a totally crappy year. When the NOS offense finally started to click again (week 8) Colston was a top 5 receiver. During his last 6 weeks in 2007 He was the 5th best WR even with a 4 one week.

Hopefully he can keep a consistent streak going and with maybe (speculation) Shockey showing up in NOS, it could open up some things.
