Lions 1.09 RB Mikel LeShoure DET

Not that I think he was a top 3 pick, but I'm surprised LeShoure made it all the way to #9. Nice value this deep into the draft. Guess my kicker will have to wait.

ps Thanks for the interest in the pick to all who inquired, but I just wasn't blown away by any offers.

I would have picked him at 1.09. I passed on Best last year because of injury concerns and I was right on that part (missed the Foster breakout). If Best gets injured again LeShoure will be a bigger stud.

That's what I'm thinking, plus Detroit is finally recovering after the Great Millon Depression. Not sure why you think him going to Detroit is a bad thing, but I'll be happy to take a chance on him this late.

It's not Detroit, I think most people believe Best is still the superior RB.

It's a distinct possibility, but at the very least he should be good for 40-60 yds and a vultured td or two a game. Not too shabby for a flex type player.

He is a stud...not doubt about it...but he is not as clear cut to start as others taken before him...had he gone to a Miami, NE, Indy or SEA, then no question, may have even been 1st guy taken...but he has to compete with another stud youngster, and at 1.7, I was not willing to take that chance....in Frenzy, since I already had Best, was an easy call....and Best looked pretty damn good last year...
