Rookie Draft Start Date?

Ok, looks like RFA bidding is winding down. The NFL draft is April 26th-28th. It looks like we should be done with RFA bidding by then.

How about officially starting the Rookie Draft on Tuesday May 1st at 12:01am EST?

Picks can be made before then, but the clock won't officially start until then.

Any objections?

Rules say 2nd Monday in May BUT I have no objections to starting earlier. If we do and like it we could have a poll/vote and change the rules officially for 2013.

The rules also say:
"The rookie draft will begin on or about one week after the first day of the NFL college draft"

I guess that would be closer to 2nd Monday in May, then Tuesday...

We don't need a new rule....just commish being less antsy to get things going, since I have no money left for RFA's...

Official Start date will be Monday, May 14th at 12:01AM EST then....

Picks can be made before then, but clock will not begin until the above date/time

Are we still planning to start picking this week? I am going to have little to no access during the day on Tues and Wed (1st and 2nd), but should be checking in the morning and at night. I am ready to start whenever, just want to let people know of my schedule.

As John pointed out, rules state to start 2nd Monday in May, so we will begin clock on Monday, May 14th at 12:01am.

People can put in their picks before then, but official clock will not start rolling until then.

OK then if it does not really begin till that date can I change my pick any time during the none start up date? Say My pick loses a leg in the next week am I bound to a pick if the draft has not oficcially started?

yes, your bound to the pick. Only difference between now and official start is you will have a timer running on your pick on the official start date.
